Bio
Blake-Anthony Johnson is a cellist, arts administrator, and educator based out of Louisville, Kentucky and NYC. Johnson’s career prioritizes innovative, systemic, and multidisciplinary opportunities designed to execute cultural institution’s responsibility as a public service to all. Johnson’s rich performance history of national appearances soloing with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to international tours across Europe and Asia is the catalyst behind his love of arts administration. An avid arts education ambassador, Johnson’s portfolio includes work with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, New World Symphony, El Sistema, Academia Filarmónica de Medellín, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Nashville Symphony. Currently the Director of Learning & Community, Johnson is responsible for administering nineteen programs that enhance the public’s access to, understanding of, and engagement with the Louisville Orchestra. A strong advocate of Equity, Inclusion,and Diversity, he serves on the board of South Florida CARES Mentoring Movement and works as a consultant.
